Is there a fast track to what we want?
This is an interesting question because many people desire certain things and outcomes but never really seem to get what they want.
I realised many years ago that mindset thinking is extremely important for achieving success. There is a saying ‘what we think about comes about’. I am inclined to believe this to a certain extent yet there are other dynamics which come into play.
We might desire certain things out of life, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that we are going to achieve them. For instance, if we desire financial success yet have a belief system that we will never have financial success, then having the desire is not enough. Understanding our belief system is the fundamental to making changes.
Yet understanding your inner belief system might not be easy to understand. I grew up in a family where the desire to gain financial success was never ever spoken about. I knew that mum and dad lived from wage to wage, but they accepted that, and budgeted and gave us our basic needs. Furthermore, my father was never focused on money. He would bring the pay packet home, place it on the fridge and let mum deal with the expenses. He never spoke about money or displayed the desire for financial success. My mother spoke about his abilities and mentioned that he could be working for himself and earning much more money, yet he was never interested in this type of responsibility.
Furthermore, I developed a negative appreciation of post school life when I worked for Chartered Accountants. Money became less important, and I started to focus on the desire to join the seminary and train to become a Catholic Priest. All of these factors can determine the attitude that we develop towards accumulating wealth and items. And these fundamental. an influence us all through our lives without being fully aware of the implications.
So how do you change the mindset thinking when there comes a time in your life when you want to attract wealth?
If we do not understand the above dynamics, then we can be striving for financial success yet our inner subconscious can be working against us. Changing the inner subconscious is a process and does require dedication. So, if your inner subconscious is saying that money is not important yet your conscious side is saying something different, then the inner subconscious will be like the rudder of a boat and it will lead us in the direction of our inner subconscious.
I have found that the only real successful way to change the outlook of the inner subconscious is to create affirmations. These affirmations need to be precise and very clear. So, if money is not an important commodity to the inner subconscious then change the outlook of the inner subconscious by creating an affirmation which contradicts what your subconscious is saying. Create an affirmation that reads something like this. ‘Money is important to me’. ‘I have a savings plan and investments’. ‘It is easy for me to accumulate money; I always have ample’.
The creation of affirmations is essential for change. I am talking from a personal experience. Over the years I have created personal affirmations and have set out to change the way I view life’s thoughts. And without a doubt, I have been successful in changing aspects of my life which otherwise would have stayed the same. Some aspects are too personal to mention yet I have experienced the change, and this has only come about through affirmations.
My challenge to you is this. Take some time out of your busy daily life, grab your phone and write down some of your inner thoughts about any topic. Whether it evolves around money, relationships, work, age, world outlook, spiritual and religious beliefs or lack of. Freely writes statements which indicate your inner thoughts. These thoughts could look something like this.
‘Life is shit. Nothing seems to be progressing for me’.
‘There is no hope for the world. Countries are heading down a pathway of conflict and destruction’.
‘I’ll never have enough money. It is always too difficult to accumulate’.
‘There is never enough time to achieve the things that I wish to achieve’.
These are just some thoughts that the inner subconscious can display. Change them around to reflect something different. If we don’t focus on changing our prospective on these thoughts, then our thought process is likely to stay the same. Ultimately, it is up to ourselves as to whether or not we wish to change our perspectives and inner subconscious beliefs.
So when we change these perspectives, we are looking at creating some affirmations which we need to recite regularly to ourselves until they become a reality. Those affirmations could read.
‘Life is amazing. I am gaining so much out of life and achieving my personal best’.
‘Life is full of hope. World conflicts have always existed. I never gauge life on what the media presents’.
‘Having wealth is easy to achieve. Money is never an issue for me. I arrange my finances, plan the future and seem to have more wealth than I need’.
‘I have plenty of time in my life to achieve my goals. I always feel relaxed and have plenty of time to enjoy what life has to offer’.
So, you can tell the dramatic difference between the different set of statements. When we deliberately set out to change our outlook, the statements are completely different. As a result, in order to change our inner subconscious response, we need to recite the new affirmations daily on a regular basis until it appears obvious to us one day that we naturally think that way.
And finally, there is one more ingredient to this approach. Always give gratitude. Regardless of circumstances and self-talk, always give gratitude and thanks for your present circumstances.
When we give gratitude and thanks, we are like a stream gently flowing down a mountain from side to side. Any object in the way might slow down the flow but it will never completely stop the volume of water. Even when we feel disappointed in ourselves and upset over our short comings, it is important to express gratitude for our present situation. When we give gratitude and thanks, we are accepting our present state of mind, and we know that life will work with us to find a way to sort out our problems and set us on a pathway to success.
When everything becomes too much to deal with, gratitude is the reset button that allows us to refocus and to gain strength and support to try again. So praise life for this moment in its perfection, and thank life for your human experience in its perfection. Life is perfect just as it is. And this includes YOU.
