How are you dealing with stress when it appears overwhelming?

How are you dealing with stress when it appears overwhelming and paralysing?

Sometimes stress can be paralysing. For me, when I am trying to plan my financial expenditure and allocate money and budget, I can be overcome with concerns and fears. I can fear the unknown of unexpected expenses or fear whether or not I will have the availability of income to deal with the expenses. This is nothing new to me. I have been dealing with concerns of finance for many years and yet I have succeeded to survive through it and plan my way out of difficulties. Regardless, I still experience stress and sometimes I feel paralysed by it.

So what can we do to deal with this sort of stress?

Apart from planning the way I budget and trying to factor in solutions, I cannot eradicate all stress. Again, stress is a part of our existence and something we need to deal with.

My experiences have taught me that living a life of gratitude guards me against falling victim to paralysing stress. Having a belief that I am being taken care of and guided helps me move ahead. Our lives are never independent of others, and life has a way of assisting us when we have a grateful heart.

Having a grateful heart connects us with God. It allows God the opportunity to enter into our live and assists us in finding solutions to our turmoil. As much as I might plan my actions, God also assists me along the way. This necessitates having a belief that we are never alone and that God steps in to assist us when we walk along the pathway of gratitude.

When we live a life of gratitude, opportunities come our way and problems are solved. We are never alone. Regardless of our circumstances, opportunities will arise to assist us. A grateful heart opens our circumstances to solutions. Our lives are in partnership with our creator and creation. The door opens when gratitude is our source of strength. Opportunities arise and we are given the strength and solutions to march forward with confidence.

Experience has taught me this. In times of difficulties, solutions have been found when I have walked the pathway of gratitude. All I need do is to have faith and to move forward.
